Journey of Snizhana and Anatoliy
At USPUK, we're dedicated to helping displaced families from Ukraine find stability and hope in the UK. Today, we're honored to share the inspiring story of Snizhana and Anatoliy, a couple from Zaporizhzhia — a city tragically affected by the ongoing conflict.
In Their Own Words:
“We wanted say huge thank you to the USPUK team for their help and assistance in our resettlement journey to the UK. At all stages, USPUK team was constantly and fully supporting us until the very arrival to the sponsor`s house. We filled out the form on the USPUK website, later we got a call and were informed that there is a sponsor for us. We were guided through all further actions and received assistance in everything we needed. We are now in the UK, we are finally in the safe place. Even now, they (USPUK team) do not forget us and are interested in our well-being and integration progress to life in the UK. Thank you very much for your help! Ukrainian Sponsorship Project is an opportunity even now to find safety in the UK.”
Anatoliy, 48, has worked his entire life at the Zaporizhzhia Steel Plant and is now living with a disability due to lung problems. The escalating dangers in their hometown compelled them to seek a safer future, turning to USPUK for support. With our assistance in translation, visa applications, and travel advice, it took just three weeks from their initial video meeting with a UK sponsor to their arrival in the UK. Snizhana and Anatoliy are now learning English and beginning their job search, taking the first steps toward rebuilding their lives.
Would Like to Become a Host?
Since the conflict began, we have successfully supported resettlement of over 1000 Ukrainians, including 383 children, into welcoming UK homes. However, the need is still great, and we receive only one sponsor application for every ten potential guests seeking refuge.
Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors in offering to host and the dedication of USPUK’s Ukrainian Sponsorship Project team, we have been able to offer Ukrainian families a chance to find safety in the UK and rebuild lives disrupted and scarred by the war.
If you would like to get involved or if you would like more information about our Ukrainian Sponsorship Project, you can find out more on our website in the Become a Host section.
