The Klyus family’s journey to safety

The Klyus family’s story

Fleeing the dangers of Kharkiv, a city under constant attack by Russian missiles, Tatyana and her family faced uncertainty as they sought refuge in the UK.

Thanks to the support they received from USPUK, they found a sponsor who welcomed them into a new life, allowing them to escape the turmoil of war.

In Tatyana's own words

"I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your assistance in finding a sponsor for my family.

My name is Tatyana, and my husband is called Yevhen. We have two sons, Oleksandr, who is 18 years old, and Platon, who is 9. We come from the beautiful city of Kharkiv in eastern Ukraine, close to the border with Russia. Given the current security situation, we desperately wanted to leave and ensure our children’s safety.

I applied for sponsorship in the UK, and soon after, I received a call from Nadiia, who provided unwavering support and guidance throughout the visa application process.

We travelled to the UK by car, as our sponsor lives in a rural area with limited public transport options. Our sponsor, John, is 85 years old and welcomed us warmly.

Finding a sponsor can sometimes be a challenge, even for larger families, but thanks to USPUK’s dedicated support, we were able to make this journey safely.

We are grateful for this opportunity, and I want to thank everyone involved for their incredible assistance."
