Update on Situation in Ukraine
War in Ukraine is not over yet: Find out how you could help
“People in Ukraine are catastrophically short of electricity for our needs,” Serhii Kovalenko, chief executive of the Ukrainian private electricity distributor shared on 5th of June, 2024
- is a matching project supporting potential hosts and guests to get matched and support safe resettlement for Ukrainians to the UK under Homes for Ukraine visa scheme. We are continuously supporting Ukrainians in need, and try to explore new ways of finding more hosts as the situation in Ukraine doesn't improve.
We are providing step-by-step support for anyone who is interested in hosting Ukrainians and can make sure you get the most suitable guest arrangement possible.
You may help a single person or a family to continue normal life, work and studies.
Here is what Ukrainians are sharing with us still in hope to find safety in the UK:
“An associate professor and her child from the war-torn city of Kharkiv have faced the ravages of war and serious health challenges, driving their move from Ukraine. Now they are living in their friends' accommodation in Poland, they seek stability and safety to continue their lives in the UK.”
***
“Natalia, an elementary school teacher from the frontline city of Kherson in hopes of building a peaceful life in the UK. Dedicated to contributing positively to society, she is eager to integrate and find employment in respective fields. Along with professional skills, she brings a love for mountain biking, innovative technologies, and yoga, enriching any community fortunate enough to include her”
***
"Oleksii served in the Ukrainian Armed Forces as a soldier and was discharged cause of injury, he has a permission to leave Ukraine. Calm, balanced and friendly person"
***
"Yevgen and my girlfriend Natalia lived in Kherson city, which was occupied on the first day of the invasion. At this moment, city is still experiencing guns pounding away. We want to find a new home in the UK and build a perfect home atmosphere. Our main goal is to benefit society. From the first days, we want to start socialising in a new society and looking for a job."
***
"I want to come to the UK for my son’s safety. I speak English well, would like to live and work in the UK. We have a friend in the UK but unfortunately she can't be a sponsor. We are quiet family without bad habits. Please help us find a sponsor to host us in the UK"
…There are many more on our list, all of them seeking safety and a new home
Refugee Week 2024
This month is a World Refugee Week will take place from 17th-23rd June 2024. The theme for this year is 'Our Home'. But for many Ukrainians at the moment, home is no longer a safe place of refuge as Russia continues to attack and bomb their cities and towns. As the war continues, so too does the number of applications from Ukrainian families desperate to leave and find safety in the UK.
Could you help us by hosting Ukrainians?
We are now receiving over 300 applications monthly from potential guests, some of whom remain in areas such as Kharkiv that are under daily attacks from Russian bombs.
Are you ready to help now? Then please book a call with our sponsor coordinator by emailing to sponsors@uspuk.org or click the button ‘Become a Host’ bellow to register your interest.
