Afghan Resettlement Project

“No matter how knowledgeable people are, they can still miss out on essential information.” - shares Nasir, USPUK Afghan Community Manager.

At USPUK, we positively changing lives by ensuring that everyone has access to the eligible support

Nasir, USPUK Afghan Community Manager, recently visited an Afghan family from our community and shared their story:

“The head of the household works for the council and supports a resettlement scheme but faces financial challenges. He believed his savings disqualified him from housing support, which was a misconception. As a result, the family missed out on over £600 of entitled Universal Credit for his four-month-old child over the last six months due to incomplete information.”

Nasir reviewed the family’s situation and provided detailed guidance on their rights and the processes they needed to follow, ensuring they understood how to access the support they were eligible for.

This experience highlights the critical importance of USPUK's information-sharing scheme. Our strategy and direct consultation services ensure everyone has access to the necessary information and support.
