Information Pack for Afghans on the ARAP and ACRS schemes
Foreign travel is an integral part of human life. Typically, citizens of any country use their national passport for international travel. However, the situation is different for foreign nationals residing in the UK who have not yet obtained British citizenship. Those holding a Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) must either travel with the passport from their country of origin or apply for a travel document to leave the UK.
For Afghan citizens living in the UK without British citizenship, it is crucial to ensure their Afghan passport is renewed before its expiration to avoid any complications when traveling abroad, including to Afghanistan. Unfortunately, not everyone is fully aware of this process or the steps involved. To address this, our office has gathered and translated all relevant information into the local languages spoken by Afghan citizens, ensuring easier access and understanding.
How to Apply:
Passport renewal services can be obtained from the office of the Afghan General Consulate in London
In Person: You must be present at the consulate section.
No Appointment Needed: Walk in between 9:30 and 14:00.
Required Documents:
Citizens of Afghanistan must have the original and a copy of the following documents in order to renew their passports:
Bring your ePassport (Machine Readable).
Fill out and sign the Passport Application Form. (Form)
Provide one standard passport-size photo.
Original MoFA Attested Tazkira.
Proof of Address (Bank Statement, Bills, etc.).
UK visa/BRP card and its photocopy.
Fees and how to pay:
£150 for 5 Years.
CARD PAYMENTS ONLY, no cash accepted.

Important Notes:
Surname: Must be stated (Family Name).
Place of Birth: Must match ID’s place of issue.
Photo: Recent, White Background, Size: 4 x 4.5 or American standard.
Height: State exact height in centimetres (CM).
Application Form: Fill in BLOCK LETTERS with black ink pen.
Signature: Must be within the box, not touching edges.
